Australian Medical Placements : Celebrating 15 Years with Certex!

Australian Medical Placements (AMP), originally founded in the 1990s, is a family-run business that celebrated 21 years under their current owners, Lyn Barker and Jodi Duyster. Across the years, AMP has been involved in developing and improving tender processes with government departments for their supply tenders. AMP has won numerous awards and has provided workforce support to public hospitals, rural health networks, private hospitals, and general practice clinics throughout the country.

When discussing the business’ impact, Tahlia Schalch, General Manager at AMP, explains that “Some of our proudest moments include keeping emergency departments open by staffing them with AMP doctors and knowing that we have helped communities in need get life-saving care.”

AMP achieved ISO 9001 certification with Certex in mid-2009 and holds New South Wales Health (NSWH) Certification as well.

Impact of certification:

For AMP, building trust and credibility within the medical community is crucial. Certification has helped AMP achieve this as well as gain a competitive edge.

Certification has certainly given us an edge in our industry, a validated reason why our customers choose us over our competitors. Certification has demonstrated that we have our processes streamlined and consolidated, that we know what we are doing, and we have the proof in the uninterrupted certification we have received year after year," said Tahlia Schalch, General Manager at AMP.

Certification has given their clients confidence in their business.

When asked by our customers why certification is important, I always liken it to insurance. You want to choose a company that has the certification because if something goes wrong, then you know that you are covered.

Because of certification, our processes are solid, well-rounded, and robust, and we have the knowledge and experience to solve problems if something happens. Other agencies that don’t have certification—well, it’s like driving an uninsured car; a disaster waiting to happen!”

Working with Certex

AMP began its journey with Certex in late 2009 after a recommendation from a professional lobbying and advocacy group.

On the experience of working with Certex, Tahlia Schalch, General Manager at AMP, stated

Like Australian Medical Placements, Certex has been around for such a long time! ... we have continued to work with Certex for the last 15 years because of the established relationship, their willingness to help, and their flexibility to fit in with our timelines.

Each year, working with the Certex team feels like a familiar catch-up, where we get to demonstrate our quality management systems and review our processes. This continued experience with Certex has provided us with a lot of learning and knowledge and lots of opportunities for growth.”

Congratulations to AMP for their dedication to excellence for the last 15 years!
